30 Days of Thanksgiving: Day 14: Don Chepe

Mr. Chepe is a gardener at NCA, but his talents and friendly personality go above and beyond his job description! He is a carpenter, a bike mechanic, and an artist, too, creating some amazing things out of wood, "foamy", and more that he occasionally sells at the school. Each day he rides his bike to and from work from his home which would take 30 minutes to get to by car! Chepe is well-known by students and families at NCA for his smile, generosity, and hard work. Chepe uses his lunch breaks, on occasion, to work on my bike (which, for the $40 price tag, was bound to have some issues!). Without Chepe's help, my bike would've literally fallen apart. He gave us a wooden stool that Charlotte uses in the bathroom to reach the sink, and we've purchased a few of his wooden toy airplanes and cars as gifts for our own kids and others. He recently brought us some plants for us to "tend" in PreK2. So today, I'm thankful for Chepe!
