Well, the rains have nearly ceased and the winds have begun to pick up a bit, signaling our own change of seasons here in Nicaragua. While a far cry from the colorful, cool "fall" of west Michigan that we miss so much (thanks a lot, Facebook!), we have our own year-round colors. And really, the temperatures in November and December are pretty incredible (okay--midday can still be a bit stuffy!). So today, we are thankful for warmth, the fact that we don't have to haul out the "winter clothes" and dress and undress our kids with layer upon layer, and for the beautiful colors that surround us in every season here in Nicaragua.
A few pictures from a recent walk from our house. . .
The road to our house. . .this part is NOT great for the van.
We cross over this "arroyo" on a small bridge with our car to get to the house. It is usually dry like this, but during the big rains, it transforms into a gushing river. We've found it to be a fun place to walk and explore (when it isn't raining, of course)!
Yeah, there's a lot trash. But even more beauty! Depends on what you focus on. . .
